My Ipod Needs Your Help

Today is a perfect day for this.

Being the SITS gals FB, I mean!!!

Because I need your help.

My ipod selections are D*U*L*L!

I need to 'summer' it up a little bit!

Music is a huge part of life.  Most of our major life changing moments have a song.

A song you played over and over again to ease your heart break.

Or a song you danced and laughed to.

A song you graduated to.

Played while giving birth.

Be-bopped to in your cars.

Buried your loved ones to music.

Got married to music.

And, most importantly, drove around with the windows down BLARING good old '80s tapes, like Def Leppard or Motley Crue.  Right, Heather, my '80s lovin' friend?

Now, my very welcome visitors, I need you to help me by telling me your favorite summer songs.
I'm hoping to be out of this cast soon and on my way to walking and taking off this butt weight I put on and I need to work on my ipod.

Give it to me people.

Just a couple.

Each.

Please?

I promise to have them ALL on my ipod when I come out to SITScation in October!

Because, people, H*E*L*L*O, it's VEGAS!!

And October in Vegas still requires summer tunes!

Thanks so much for coming by today!!

And thanks to our awesome SITS gals for all their hard work in the blog community!

And don't forget:

and just because you haven't quite finished your coffee yet and your boss doesn't mind paying you to read my blog, go here.

Enjoy!!  I hope you'll come back again sometime soon!

My favorite this summer? Boom, Boom, Pow by Black Eyed Peas.

I agree, music is the driving force behind just about everything. Every memory is tied to a song, even the bad ones.
The shins make great summer music and Acrade Fire,Funeral(I know it doesn't sound like summer, but the feeling is there), hope you like.

Old school pick would HAVE to be "Summer Time" by Wil Smith or DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince whatever he was calling himself then. LOVE IT STILL!

Newer would be "put a ring on it" by Beyonce because it just cracks me up and just picturing those girls dancing their booties off in the video would make me want to walk.

Neither of these are new songs but I rarely listen to the radio so it's slim pickin' in my brain right now!

I enjoyed your blog today! Thanks!

Congrats on your big day. And, did you say you'er going to SITScation?! Cool! I'm going too. Can you say excited?! And, for music. You probably don't want my real faves b/c I have the musical taste of a 15 year old. But, one of my all time old school favorites of summer is Will Smith/DJ Jazzy Jeff's Summertime. Always puts me in the summer mood:)

Honestly, there's no way I could narrow it down to one or a few songs. I have hundreds of songs on my ipod and they range from Emenim to Kenny Chesney to Blue Tree.

I'd have to say the band I've been listening to the most lately is Little Big Town and I like "Wild at Heart" by Gloriana but you really can't go wrong with some of the other suggestions from before me.

Congrats on being the FB!

WooHoo....congratulations on your day in the SITS sun!

Wow...it's hard to pick music for others. There is so much out there and it all depends on the time of day and the mood we are in at the moment. :-)
But When I think of Vegas, I think the Dandy Warhols......with songs like "Smoke It"...."Shakin". Or maybe LCD Soundsystem....with "Give It Up". Or how about Stereophonics....their songs "Pedalpusher", "Superman" and "Mama Told Me Not to Come"

Fun! Happy SITS day!

My summer favorites are "Out of Our Heads" (Sheryl Crow) and anything by Sia. I heart Sia.
Although my true confession is that Britney's new album is awesome for summer driving/running/walking!

OMG - your blog is so funny... glad to have found it thru SITS (I'll be following) and congrats on being the FB, of course!

Okay, two of my new faves right now are 1) Sometime Around Midnight (by The Airborne Toxic Event) and 2) Ain't No Rest for the Wicked (by Cage the Elephant). Both good songs to work out to, I think.

One request: if you get some other ridiculously good songs, you have to pass them on to your readers... deal?? :)

Happy SITS Day Sitstah! Consider yourself "followed!"

For awesome ideas on the type of music you like, I highly suggest going to visit Pandora.com. You create your own radio station with ONLY music you like based on your like/dislike votes for each song. That website saves me during those long, boring work days. You could use it to find more stuff you like.

Have a great week!

Happy SITS day!

I have mostly stuff from the 80's on my iPod, but I also like the new Keith Urban cd and Rascal Flatts! :D

I so love 80s music! However, Def Leppard isn't quite as much fun when you're teenager is sitting there singing, "Pour some Sugar on Me."

I love Rod Stewart's "Forever Young," Earl Thomas Conley with Keith Whitley, "Brotherly Love," "Boys of Summer" is a must have, and, of course, "Saturday in the Park" by Chicago.

Enjoy your day in the sun! Keep that Ipod Charged

151 Comments so far! Well I'm sure these songs have already been noted (b/c I'm not the only one with good taste, surely):

"Spinning Wheel" by Blood, Sweat & Tears

"Summer in the City" by Lovin' Spoonful

(Do these songs make me look old?)

Have fun!

One of my faves to sing loudly in the car is Something to Talk About by Bonnie Rait, it was often a part of the college road trips with me and my bff.

Music selections for you:

My favorite artist KT Tunstall. She is a 'song to dance to' and a few 'soundtrak to my life' songs as well. My favorite: Under the Weather, Hold On, Suddenly I See, and Black Horse and the Cherry Tree.

Another of my favorites is Toad the Wet Sprocket. My favorite songs are Windmills, All I Want (you will know this one when you hear it. It was WAY overplayed in the 90's), and Walk on the Ocean.

Hope that helps and stock up on I Tunes cards from Starbucks! They give out a new song every Tuesday and sometimes you find real gems on there... sometimes, not so much.

I won't be much help since I've had an Ipod for 5 years now without ever cracking it open. It was a wrap gift from the producers of a show that I worked on back in 2004. Pitiful I know, but it's so pretty in spite of it being outdated! One day I'll join the new millennium and break open the pack as well as upgrade to a color screen but for now, I'm moving at my glacial pace with technology. However congrats on your SITS featured blogger day.
