Say What???

So, most of you know that I have had my day in the SITS sunshine! It was marvelous! I'm still trying to get back to everyone, but WOW! That is a very daunting task indeed!
I went back to the SITS site that day to leave an extra "WooHoo, I'm having so much fun!" comment, when I saw an anonymous (aka chickenshit) comment.

It went something like this:

"Sometimes it seems that the folks that love to get the most comments don't love to give them. Why is that?"

Okay, so, it was EXACTLY that, thanks to copy/paste.

I feel this comment, left on MY SITS day in particular, was personal.

And, to be honest, it pissed me off.

And I feel the need to explain myself.

Which pisses me off even more.

And Little Miss Anonymous will likely not come here and read this.

Byotch.

Hear me out, my faithful peeps.

I have blogged before about not having much time for this loved sport of mine. I can barely keep up with my regular reads, my posts and returning comment love, and acknowledging comments, even if it is just by email and never getting to those blogs.

Rest assured, I too, feel cheated that my life cannot accomodate more regular visits to other blogs.

I write my posts for MY benefit.

I try to make them somewhat interesting for YOURS.

I write when I need to for ME.

I stress over the need to be more productive for YOU. (That was not to make you feel even somewhat guilty!)

If you are a regular closet reader, or loyal commenter, please know that I totally adore you all and look forward to your visits. I often partake in beverages while we sit and visit on my blog.

When I come to yours, please know I come in peace and love. And it usually means my family has gone camping and that I am at home.

Desperately blogging for all I am worth.

This may bother my family when I say this, but blogging, or should I say the time it takes, isn't overly supported. I often hear "Where's Mom?" and the usual response of "At the computer. Where else?" and feel the standard Mom Guilt.

I mean, really, why should I be doing anything but clean when I'm at home, right?

Wrong.

I know with a few of my regular reads, the occasional time they stop here is a treat for me, but I never hold it against them for not coming more often. I am still a loyal reader of theirs regardless.

So, I do what I can. Which is my very bloggy best.

And I know that for those who like to come here, it is good enough.

And I thank you for that!

I 100% agree with you - the great thing about blogging is the freedom - to go on lots and lots when you can and to bow out when you can't without any guilt!! You keep going and don't worry what some people have to say!!

I completely agree! Blogging should be fun and you shouldn't feel like you have to go back and comment on every single comment that you are given. It turns blogging into a chore and it's just not fun! I read the blogs I love and comment whether or not I receive comments back. I do try to visit the blogs I receive comments from, but it might take me a few days. So have fun blogging and don't feel guilty about what others say!

Well, ya know there always has to be one in the bunch! I agree with you...your blog, you do what you want. I have about the same amount of followers as you and I get on average, about 15 or so comments. Depending on the subject. I don't expect many comments because I rarely have time to comment myself. I do read your blog faithfully, though :)

Always remember and never forget!

I'm a sister of fourteen, mother of four and grandmother of nine. I'm qualified on this subject.

Guilt is an unnatural emotion and you are the only one who controls your reaction, never give satisfaction to the undeserving.

For the record I love your blogs...

I always stop by even if I don't have time to comment. I ignore the mean comments and just assume they are for someone else ;). Don't take the bozos personally. I love your blog.

I agree with Kimberly. Don´t take it personally. That person is probably writing just to receive comments, which is so missing the point of having a blog.
You said it well! I completely agree.

I agree with you. I feel that mom guilt too from not constantly cleaning! lol I know it is hard to get back with everyone immediately but don't let the one bad egg in a bunch spoil it for you!!! I have been telling everyone your Joanne story! That is so funny and I don't even KNOW you!!!! lol lol

That is to bad that someone had to put a negative comment out there! I know what you mean by never having enough time for your blogging! I feel that way all the time!! I love it when I have a quiet couple of hours and check out other blogs in some peace and quiet. It's hard to come by as a busy mom! But we all need our time, and I know this is how I spend my "me" time-by blogging, we shouldn't feel guilty for that! Although I too-fight the mom guilt all the time!

Another favourite blogger of mine recently got a negative anonymous comment, and now he's quitting his blog. It makes me want to cry. He likely has other reasons too, but his finale comes hot on the heels of Mr. Negative Anonymous so it is suspect. (Does anybody else here follow black hockey jesus?) Why don't those negative anonymouses (anonymice?? LOL) just stay home and leave us nice people alone. I love you babe, and I love your blog, and I love your darling commenters. One day, I will follow all of you!!! I retire in 579 days!!

Some people are just unhappy and they like to make others unhappy right along with them. I agree 100% with everything you said. I could spend all day on the computer and still not visit all the blogs I want to visit. We have to live our lives too, or we'll have nothing to blog about.

Ignore that. We all do the best we can. Comment back when you can.

I'm totally with you.....my blog is for ME for the most part....I scrapbook like crazy for my kiddos...and this is what I do for me...I try to make it fun for my readers....but it is what it is....comments to me are like frosting!!! Have a beautiful day!

My opinion:

The person who would leave that comment is the same person who, as a kid, measured the candy bar cut in half to make sure it was fair!

Life ain't fair. There is never enough time to do all the fun stuff. Slide on your big girl panties and get over it...

I blog to get stuff off my chest, to try to get people to laugh/think/learn, to write (good and bad) stuff my addled brain will most likely forget, and to save my husband from having to listen to ALL of the 50,000 words that MUST leave my body each day!

Comments are sometimes validating; don't let them become a chore by insisting that I comment on each and every post and comment I read.

My to-do list is long enough already.

Wow, that turned out longer than I planned!

Oh brother, doesn't EVERYONE love comments. I agree we all do what we can. I am leaving comment love to undo the "anonymous" one ;) hope it works!
