Moments That Make It All Worthwhile

Asia went on a date tonight with yesterday's man of her dreams. They went to see Watchmen. Yes, I know it's rated 18A. Yes, I know she's only "technically 15" (her words, not mine). Thankfully it had sex scenes that were awkward enough that they all took out their phones at that point and started texting each other. This generation is so weird, aren't they?

Anyway, I picked them up and I have to admit, he is one handsome young man, and he seems very nice. He doesn't do drugs, nor is he in any gangs (**mom). He has a good relationship with his mom. He danced with his little sister. In public. He plays soccer. Helllooooo, can you say son-in-law material right there alone?

Oh, and Asia wants you all to know that he is incredibly sexy and he smells like an angel. 'Nuff said, right?

We had lots of giggles on our way home. I gave her a hard time for not giving him a hug at the end of the night. While I didn't want them making out on the hood of my van, a goodnight hug would have been acceptable. I asked if he held her hand during the movie. Uhhh, nope. She had those suckers wrapped so tightly around her body, I don't think one horny young man all by himself could have unwrapped her.

Good girl.

Now they have been texting each other since, and apparently throughout, the movie. Should I find it disturbing at all that they couldn't even tell me what the movie was about? At any rate, whatever part they watched, or didn't, it wasn't very good, and they don't recommend it.

I know. Long post for a simple movie review, wasn't it?

** Asia had my mom totally fooled with one of her boyfriends.  She said he was in a gang and a drug dealer. I played along of course, because that's what a good Mom/Daughter does. I said, "Well, duh, Mom. She goes to Blankity Blank Blank. At that school, there is no other option."  hahaha  SUCKER!

Awwwe! I loved watching my girls be in love. Unfortunately their "loves" did not last and they are both still searching for the right one. Hopefully your daughter will have better luck! This guy sounds great!

See? People? See how I am treated? Ah but it is a strange world that I still adore the people who deliver such abuse upon me. I can hardly wait to hear the story of the date from Asia herself. How awesome to be a part of that special evening. WAAAAAH! She's growing up so fast!! :-(

That's kind of a rare thing right? Mom likes the boyfriend? Better cook some of your sweet n sour meatballs for him :)
