- Other people's kids are worse than mine. (It was all your praying that saved their sorry selves!)
- Apparently I'm a bee-otch. Or that is the opinion of several of them, anyway. (Morons.)
- It's delightful to get a room all to yourself. (You can fart ALL you want!)
- Other adults don't go up for seconds at supper time - or breakfast or lunch. One parent even observed that "Isn't it fitting that you first noticed the dessert, while I first noticed the salad?" (Haha. Skinny people are so witty!)
- There is a problem either with junior high student's ears....or the connection to their brain. (Ha! The funny thing is that they think we're the stupid ones!)
- I don't like kids. (God should have had them go from sweet newborn, to toddler, to preschooler, to grown up. But, I guess He's allowed some mistakes.)
- Other people's kids are worse than mine. (Oh. Oops. Did I mention this one already? I was really only repeating it for my benefit.)
But, rest assured, I am back. Thanks to your prayers and the grace of God I am not on my way to prison, and there are no families about to plan the funeral of their horrid child. I already know that they won't be blessed with my presence at Tour Band in May, because my hubby has spoken up for that one! (giggle, snirk!) Poor sucker.

I feel your pain. I took a team of 14 year old girls to Hawaii for a soccer tournament, paradise can be hell. Oh and I was a bitch too. There were a couple parents I wanted to reimburse me the cost of my trip, that's how terrible their girls were.
Isn´t it somehow reassuring that other peoples kids are worse than yours?
And I´m with you on those skinny people! Some are just weird!
Ahhh...But what good parents both of you are that you ARE willing to go! You are showing your kids that they are imprortant.
Okay....that woman isn't just skinny ...she is a BIIIIAAAAATTTTTTTCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
Have a great day!
I was always the sponser for my older kids. 15 years has made me refuse to do anything with groups of teens. And I am with you on the repitition and clinging to the thought that there are kids so much worse than yours. Plus, now you know who your kids will NEVER be allowed to hang out with.
I'm glad you all made it back ok!! I volunteered for a trip once.......ONCE!! And yeah, never again!!
Just think, if the kids are this bad, what are the parents like?? YIKES!
Enjoy your weekend and put it behind you!
Welcome home, honey. Just think, if half the band is girls, teenage girls, then you had a busload of teen angst to surround you. Coming home unscathed is nothing less that miraculous! Maybe Asia is easier to understand now, balanced against the backdrop of her "peers." Yikes.
Oh yeah - re #4: Did somebody actually SAY that? Again, I am stunned speechless at the total ignorance of some people. What a bee-yotch that was!!! I hope you smacked her upside her stupid head, thereby launching the kind of free-for-all junior-high food fight that they'll be talking about at their reunions for the rest of their lives!!!
Glad you survived with your sense of humor intact.
I also use those times to marvel at how much better my kids are than others and to scope out which kids I hope they avoid, or to find out just why they are avoiding others, and to generally be thankful that I am not that age.
When my older three were younger I did the girl scouts, numerous field trips, where I was stuck with the children that had to take their medication, and girls that just thought they knew a heck of a lot more than I did, and weren't afraid to tell me!
So, the younger three...SORRY! I do not volunteer anymore I paid my dues...yet if they'd ask me I'd probably be sucked back into it!
glad you made it home in one piece!
You are a GODDESS my dear. Did I ever tell you that I went to school to get a teaching degree? When I did my internship,,,,I quit...I really don't like smart ass kids. Their horrid. Kindergarteners were the only ones I liked.
Thanks for the visit to my Blog and the comment Please visit again anytime. I promise to have something new up soon. Have been away visiting my sister. Love your pictures.
I love this post and I better enjoy my toddle, kindergardner and 2nd grade before they turn into teenagers. lol
She didn't really say that did that...DID she? SHOCKING!!!!!
I'm glad I learned early that I don't like kids! I don't chaperone. Anything. EVER.
I'm glad you survived it though!
