I'm Feeling A Little Silly Right About Now!

I thought Flat Stanley was a journal. I thought he was ONLY a journal. He was to travel around and have some fun and then head back to the student where the project began. Some may not know what I'm talking about. Others will.

I went looking for an envelope tonight and saw the envelope that Flat Stanley came to us in.

The envelope wasn't empty.

Guess what???

It turns out that Flat Stanley really is a flat little person. And it also turns out that Stanley, himself, didn't actually go to Cancun. Nor did he go to Australia. He is also not on his way to Paraguay.

Well THAT'S disappointing.

But in my defense, the pictures that Jamie had in the "journal" were OF the journal itself. There weren't any pictures of the real Stanley in there either. So how were we to know??

Still. I hang my head in embarrassment. And I feel really bad for Stanley.  Poor, poor Stanley.

So, everyone. Meet Flat Stanley. Who never actually made it out of Canada after all!! lol

HA HA HA, do you remember I emailed you about that? My daughter thought I was mad giving her a book to take but I just said she had to learn to think more creatively. HA HA HA. OH NO, ah well can you post him to Betty? I hope the journal turns up!

This is making me smile. Do you think she will forgive us???? You are a photographer - can you impose him on the photos somehow? God you are my twin I tell you!!

And he is real cute and all, mind you the animals would have destroyed him - he looks kind of delicate like.

Um and I hate to break it to you but the pictures of her in the journal were with Flat Stanley....HA HA HA, true!! But I just assumed she must have kept him and the intro to the book included him. It made sense to me...

LOL!! ahahahha, I´m so glad you posted this, before Stanley arrived! :) You really sound like me. I could have done this!
Anyway what now? Do I cut out Stanley and use "copy" Stanley or are you sending the real one?
Either way it´s some trip he´s having...

Rhonda, I jsut read out your post to my daughter Jordan who took the journal to the Zoo. She laughed so hard she started to cry. She said you are hysterical the way you wrote this!!!! She said to me, "do you know how stupid I looked Mum taking a journal up a ladder to feed a giraffe?" HA HA HA HA. I think its better cos Jamie gets her name in all these pictures anyway given its on the journal. Who's telling the kid you or her uncle HA HA!!

Okay...I was going to ask you that but....I just thought maybe Canadians do things "differently"
Is he coming or do I need to cut and paste this guy?
Love you...you funny girl!
Have a great weekend!

Okay, well, I'm seriously happy that I could give everyone a chuckle! I'm such an idiot! I think printing him out and at least PRETENDING he was there will work just fine! lol

No no no. Rhonda. Quickly, today, get the little guy in the mail to Paraguay. He can still catch up with his Journal. It's too late for him to feed a giraffe or see Australia, but he can still make Paraguay and Florida. Come on. You're not a giver-upper. Get on it, girl!

He can't make it in time to Paraguay, but Stanley will be on his way to Florida, along with the Holding Fast book and Ronda's pay it forward prize. Sometimes it pays to procrastinate! And really, they should have tucked him INSIDE the journal. Argh! Oh well.

Yes, of course they should have – that's where Stanley should have been travelling all along. I totally agree with you. I suspect you're not the first to make this mistake!
